There are hundreds of tips for farming Legendaries and Sets in Diablo Immortal. A major YouTuber of the game now warns that some of them are simply wrong – and provides proof that higher Hell levels are better for farming.
The most important points at a glance:
- You can set different Hell levels in Diablo Immortal, which make the game harder but also drop better loot.
- Many tips say that you should farm lower Hells when hunting for legendary items or set pieces from dungeons.
- A veteran player now explains that you should rather use the highest level possible for you. Even if it takes longer, it is worth it.
That’s why higher Hell levels are better: The higher the Hell level, the better the loot you can get. This is a rule of thumb that applies to every piece of equipment in Diablo Immortal.
However, you do not just receive different items but identical ones with better values. As DM: Diablo Immortal shows, he finds items with worse values on Hell 2 than on Hell 3 – even though their required level or their Paragon is even higher:
DM: Diablo Immortal states that this is a double disadvantage. Because with the lower values, the effect of your resonance is also a bit worse.
You increase resonance by using legendary gems and upgrading them. The value increases the effectiveness of all your attributes. That means: from one point in strength, dexterity, or intelligence, you generate more of the respective attribute according to your resonance.
Since the items on Hell 2, as in this example, have lower values than those from Hell 3, the resonance is also not as effective. Overall, you have to invest much more energy into farming than if you directly visit higher levels.
How exactly legendary gems work and where to get them, we show you here in the video:
Better items at high Hell levels – farming tips
Reaching higher Hell levels can be quite exhausting. There are some “breakpoints” where especially free-to-play players come to their limits. One of them is exactly the mentioned Hell 3, where many get stuck.
A player has already given tips to master Hell 3 and he also emphasizes that the higher your combat rating is, the easier farming becomes in PvE. Here you can find some useful information for farming:
- This is how you find the best farming spots for Legendaries, monster essences, and XP
- A player runs through 1,000 rifts in Diablo Immortal without paying – showing how many Legendaries are hidden in them
- A player runs through 200 dungeons in Diablo Immortal – calculating how often Legendaries and set pieces drop
Some classes have it easier in Diablo Immortal than others. In our tier list of the best classes you will find the current top performers. Play with others if you have difficulties. You can see gameplay of the classes here:
Additionally, magic find increases your chance for better items, as many players now report. Instead of just increasing the probability of a drop like in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, the value in Diablo Immortal apparently increases the quality of the found items.
You should heed these tips even if you belong to the absolute casuals, at least from a certain point on. Because eventually, your progress at low Hell levels will be so minimal that you can hardly notice it. And just spending money won’t get you further:
