Many gaming PCs are built in no time in front of the camera on YouTube. However, a tech expert has taken it to the next level by using his toilet as a PC case. Even the flushing works. We show you how he came up with this crazy idea and brought it to life.
Who is the plumbing genius behind the project? The YouTuber “Basically Homeless” is known for building crazy PC setups and conducting tests. This time, however, not his refrigerator, but his toilet is used as a PC case.
For his video, he spent months dealing with toilets, especially with cutting porcelain and skillfully removing the toilet. The components and probably also the idea for the setup were sponsored by “Micro Center”. Despite the difficulties and the fact that there is still water in the toilet tank, the PC is actually working perfectly so far.
YouTuber literally learns how to plumb
How did the YouTuber achieve this? To convert his toilet into a functional PC tower, it first had to be dismantled. The YouTuber himself said that he even learned how to plumb. Then a square window was cut into the toilet tank so that the components and the flushing mechanism can also be seen.
If you want to see how “Basically Homeless” converts his toilet step by step, here is his video:
To prevent the components from being destroyed by flushing water, a about 5 mm thick Plexiglas sheet was glued together as a separation. Then everything was brought into the bathroom, the toilet was connected, and powered.
Additionally, a foldable table for the mouse and a monitor mount were screwed to the wall. After all, the quiet little place shouldn’t lack anything. To everyone’s surprise, the PC actually worked in the end.
It still needed a few optimizations. The built-in protective wall against the flushing water was initially not tight enough. But as an experienced “new plumber”, he sealed it again with spray, so there were no more inconveniences afterwards.
What components were used? If you now also dream of your own toilet PC, you just need the right components.
The YouTuber opted for an RTX 3060 and an Intel Core i7 12700 CPU. Additionally, he installed a micro ATX motherboard from Asus and a 240Hz gaming monitor to be able to play a round of Counter Strike without problems in the quiet little place.
If you want to see the exact descriptions of the components used, “Basically Homeless” left them on his sponsor’s website.
Definitely a cool setup that many gamers would surely wish for. Toilet breaks are a thing of the past. However, the smell “produced” by the toilet during original use might be a disturbing factor during long gaming sessions.
What do you think of the setup? Would you have thought that such a thing is possible? And would you also get such an extreme gaming PC and amaze your friends with it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
