Wooting 60HE brings exciting innovation for shooter players
Why are the analog switches so good? Analog switches have existed for keyboards for some time. With this technology, the keyboard can recognize how deep a key is pressed. Similar to the triggers and analog sticks of a controller.
This allows you to precisely control the walking speed of your character or the accelerator of a vehicle.
What makes the Wooting 60HE innovative are the uncompromising adjustment options. You can set when the key press should be recognized for each key.
For example, you usually need WASD in shooters immediately – so you set the trigger point to the low value of 1 mm. The Windows key is annoying when gaming – so the trigger point is set to the maximum of 4 mm.
You can set the trigger point of each key between 0.1 mm and 4 mm.
How does the Rapid Trigger work? This function improves the “release” of the key.
The key function is not deactivated only when you no longer press the key, but already from the point where you lift your finger.
Many gaming keyboards have relatively deep keys compared to a controller. So you press the key significantly longer, and this leads to overlapping key inputs, resulting in less precise control.
With the Rapid Trigger, you release the key immediately when you lift your finger, even though it’s still pressed. Especially your strafing can greatly benefit from this.
Why is it like cheating? The YouTuber “Optimum Tech” tested the keyboard and is thrilled. His video on the subject is titled – “It’s almost like cheating. – Wooting 60HE Keyboard”.
He says it’s one of the few hardware options that make you better in a game immediately after purchase. The adjustable switches together with the Rapid Trigger are a blessing, especially in games like Valorant or CS:GO.
In both shooters, you need to stand still to achieve adequate accuracy with your weapons. With the flat adjustable switches and the immediate deactivation of the key when lifting a finger, you gain a clear advantage over players with conventional keyboards.

How much does the good piece cost? The Wooting 60HE can be pre-ordered from the manufacturer and costs 179.99 € with the German key layout. A hefty price, but the high-end product targets pro and hardcore gamers who are willing to pay more for their performance.
The delivery is stated at the time of writing this article as “October 2022”. The release is therefore just around the corner.
