A YouTuber made a video about the upcoming new MMOs and MMORPGs for 2019 and beyond. However, the reactions from fans are rather sad and disappointed.

On December 9, he released the video “Every Upcoming MMO and MMORPG 2019 and Beyond”. The video has since gained over 417,000 views.
In the video, the YouTuber shows brief gameplay videos of all known western MMORPGs currently in development. He also talks about their development paths and when the games are expected to release. Each game gets about a minute in the spotlight.
It is noticeable: Most of the western games that TheLazyPeon presents are still “a long way off,” expected in 2020 or later. He also anticipates delays for many of them.
The videos of indie MMORPGs are often outdated and have been circulating for years. For example, there is video material of “Camelot Unchained” from DragonCon 2016. Chronicles of Elyria shows the “First Look”. The images are also from 2016.
However, this is not the YouTuber’s fault; there is hardly any current material available on the games.
As a hopeful candidate in the video, Atlas is featured. At the time of the video, it was brand new. Since then, Atlas has faced severe criticism.
The video also mentions games like Star Citizen or New World, which do not really fall under what people understand as “MMORPGs.” Therefore, despite their high budgets and potential, they appear in the middle of the video and are not the main focus. Indie MMORPGs have to carry the burden.
It’s almost ironic that “WoW Classic” is listed as a new MMORPG. After all, Classic is supposed to bring back WoW from 2005 as faithfully as possible.
