The end of One Piece is drawing near. In a podcast, YouTuber Tim Gabel explains why he is so afraid that the manga’s author might ruin the ending. According to a theorist, he shares this fear with many fans.
What kind of podcast is it? In a YouTube interview, the two YouTubers Tim Gabel and One Piece theorist face each other.
- Tim Gabel covers a variety of topics and invites experts to join him. His topics include electric cars, muscle building, and of course One Piece. He considers himself a huge anime fan.
- The One Piece theorist discusses theories about One Piece on his channel and is therefore an expert in the field.
The two discuss the success of One Piece and the approaching end of the manga. Gabel fears that Eiichiro Oda, the author of the work, may draw an unsatisfactory ending.
The end of One Piece is still far away
Why is Gabel afraid that Oda might ruin the ending? The YouTuber fears that he might “drive the ending into a wall.” He is afraid that the pace of One Piece could be too fast and that the manga could end soon.
He cites the fact that protagonist Luffy has now reached his ultimatum with Gear 5. The power scale allows for no more increases, so he believes that the end could come quickly now.
Is the fear justified? The One Piece theorist can reassure Gabel. He believes that the end might even stretch until 2030, making him even more optimistic than we are. Because MeinMMO thinks the end will come by 2028 at the latest.
There are still many unanswered questions that need to be resolved, such as:
- What happened back then in God Valley?
- What powers lie dormant in Luffy’s father?
- What happens on the very last island Laugh Tale?
For him, Oda has released the handbrake since Wano Kuni, the third-to-last arc. He has been clarifying many mysteries since then. Since there are still many unanswered questions, it will take a while before the manga ends.
Moreover, there are flashbacks such as the one with Jewelry Bonney and her adoptive father, which sometimes take several months in the manga. He believes that God Valley could also last longer.
