The YouTuber LazarBeam is getting his own skin in Fortnite. During the live stream that was supposed to reveal the new skin, internet issues caused the stream to crash.
What kind of skin is it? As part of the Icon Series, various content creators receive their own skin in Fortnite. Each one resembles the YouTubers or streamers and has special traits that define them.
So far, 4 Fortnite stars have received their own skins:
- Ninja kicked things off and received his skin on January 15, 2020
- Next, the streamer Loserfruit got her own outfit in the game on June 22, 2020
- On November 8, 2020, YouTuber Lachlan’s skin appeared in the item shop after players could win it in a tournament
- The last one to join the skin group on January 16, 2021, was GrefG. His announcement for the skin even broke a Twitch record.
Now the 5th skin has been revealed, dedicated to a Fortnite star. YouTuber LazarBeam, who has over 18 million followers on YouTube, joins the others and gets his own set, which was unveiled on March 1.

This is how the skin reveal went: LazarBeam wanted to announce his skin live and started a live stream on YouTube. During the 2-hour stream, the viewer count peaked at nearly 150,000, but this likely caused a crash, as the YouTuber reported on Twitter: “My internet connection crashed on the biggest day of my Fortnite career.”
The YouTuber further commented that he “had no internet issues for 12 months and then this happens.” However, LazarBeam thanked his fans for all the support and love during his skin reveal.
But that wasn’t all, as the YouTuber posted a video introducing his skin and explaining what inspired its design. He wants to honor his roots as an Australian construction worker and keep that in Fortnite. The video has now reached 6 million views.
When will the LazarBeam skin come out? Fans of LazarBeam won’t have to wait long to get his skin in Fortnite. The LazarBeam tournament will take place on March 3, where the skin can be won.
Those who want to buy the entire skin set can do so starting Friday, March 5 at 1:00 AM, when it will be available in the item shop for everyone.
LazarBeam is known for setting himself funny challenges in Fortnite. He even won a round without moving. In the future, he will probably take on these challenges with his own skin in Fortnite.
