A glass dome, vegan substitutes, and influencers: Where boomers switch off hastily, millennials advocate for the planet’s rescue. In YouTopia, 5 YouTubers attempt to collect donations for the environment in a Big Brother manner, inviting well-known guests from music, the web, and TV.
What is YouTopia? The streaming project led by BreakingLab (via YouTube.com) aims to clean up the environment. Literally, as the donation partner Everwave intends to free rivers and seas from trash.
The YouTubers, musicians, and streamers live in a glass dome and try to maintain a climate-neutral diet and lifestyle during their stay. YouTopia will already enter its 2nd round in 2021.

- Where? All participating stars broadcast the transmission on their YouTube channels. There is also an official account (via YouTube.com).
- What can you expect? YouTopia is filled with diverse personalities discussing topics such as environmental protection or climate change. Apart from that, they entertain in various challenges.

This is what they aim to achieve: The live broadcast intends to raise awareness about environmental protection. This idea originated from the YouTube channel BreakingLab, whose host has dealt with the topic in videos before.
In the style of Big Brother, viewers will have the opportunity to watch the inhabitants of the dome in their daily lives. The participants live and eat consciously in an environmentally friendly manner and refrain from meat and other animal products.
The viewers are not supposed to donate a cent to the residents of the dome for this performance, as they usually do. Instead, the focus is on a project partner to whom all proceeds from the streams go.
This is the partner: With Everwave, YouTopia has teamed up with a forward-thinking partner. The company “Everwave” aims to fish waste, microplastics, and chemicals out of rivers, lakes, and seas using ships and boats. The donations from the YouTopia viewers primarily serve to cover ongoing costs.
