Your personal favorite and place 1: Elf (18 % with 453 votes)
You have chosen elves as your favorite race in first place. They are a magical race that, alongside their grace and love for beautiful things, also wins many fans with their own enchanting beauty. The skin color of elves encompasses the normal human spectrum, but for the special magical “elven flair,” also tones of copper, bronze, blue, or pale white.
Similar to dwarves (who are surely pleased to be ranked above Tieflings and Elves), elves live significantly longer than other races. They can live over 700 years, providing them with a broader perspective on events that shorter-lived races will never attain.
They are a rather peaceful race that relies on diplomacy and compromise to resolve conflicts rather than resorting to violence. However, when necessary, they can demonstrate their strong martial abilities.
Alongside their lifespan and comparatively calm demeanor, they possess further strong abilities that make them a popular choice for their characters. They can also see in the dark, have extremely sharp senses, and do not even need to sleep to recover.
Additionally, the elven subraces all have a different vibe depending on what aesthetic of elf one prefers. From fairy-like and elegant high elves and nature-oriented wood elves to the drow from the Underdark, nearly every fan of elves can satisfy their preference for character and narrative.
Elves are not only popular in D&D. If fans had to choose a race they would belong to in real life, a majority would also choose elves:
