The actor Chadwick Boseman has died at just 43 years old. A young Fortnite pro, Young Calculator (15), reacted inappropriately. He asked in response whether that means there is no Black Panther 2. For this, he was severely criticized. People are demanding his expulsion from the eSport team Built by Gamers.
What did Young Calculator do? On the night from Friday to Saturday, it became known that actor Chadwick Boseman had died of colon cancer at just 43 years old.
The Fortnite pro Jonathan “Young Calculator” Weber tweeted: “So no Black Panther 2 … what the fuck?”
For this tweet, he received a “Cringe” from fellow pro “FaZe Sway” (16), saying it was embarrassing. Young Calculator immediately deleted his tweet.
But the tweet was out in the world. The image that FaZe Sway posted went viral and reached almost 40,000 likes. The statement triggered fierce reactions:
- The comment was completely inappropriate and weird. Making jokes about such a situation is out of line.
- Others, however, apologize for Young Calculator: He did not mean it as a joke. The boy is just too dull to understand how insensitive that is. Everyone who knows him from Twitch knows that.
“Wasn’t meant as a joke – I was an idiot”
This is what the pro says: Young Calculator actually said that the tweet was not meant as a joke at all. The question about Black Panther 2 was his first unfiltered reaction, out of shock. He was an idiot and made a mistake, but did not want to hurt anyone.
He is sorry that he did not think longer about the tweet. He did not mean it badly.
The reactions to the new tweet are again divided:
- Some say this is a 15-year-old who does not mean it like that.
- Others say he must now feel consequences. They are demanding his team “Built by Gamers” to expel Young Calculator and for him to delete himself from social media.
Young Calculator earns $200,000 with Fortnite at just 14 years old
This is the player in question: Jonathan “Young Calculator” Weber made headlines because he became a Fortnite pro at just 14 years old. The boy has already earned $210,000 in Fortnite (via esportsearning). He claims to have been playing video games since he was 3 years old.
Young Calculator is an outstanding strong player and qualified for the Fortnite World Cup in duo. There, he and his partner MackWood finished in 16th place. They even won one of the rounds, round 3. That’s when the Fortnite world took notice of the then 14-year-old.
When asked at the Fortnite World Cup with what strategy the team would proceed, Young Calculator replied at the time: “We’re shooting them in the head.”

Young Calculator belongs to a clique of players, who are known as “young Fortnite nerds”. They arrange duels in Fortnite for money. Fortnite is considered a game for particularly young players and they are leading here. At the World Cup, the average age was 16 years old.
Outside of Fortnite, these players often attract attention due to their escapades:
- A partner of Young Calculator, TSM ZexRow, won an online tournament by Ninja, but was then permanently banned from such tournaments after the victory interview.
- Young Calculator was also already excluded from a tournament: The then 14-year-old is said to have mocked the deaf streamer Ewok via Discord messages. However, he denies it.
This is what lies behind it: Here, really uncomfortable things come together:
- The “instant” effect of Twitter – everything goes out immediately and tempts to post something without thinking for 2 minutes.
- A 15-year-old who, because of his Fortnite skills, is a public figure and has considerable reach – but evidently lacks any help and understanding of how to present oneself publicly.
- And the current “Cancel” culture on social media, where some are ruthless in demanding the “head” of someone who they believe has behaved wrongly.
Young Fortnite players frequently draw attention through actions that cause shaking heads. Especially the clique that Young Calculator is in regularly makes unusual headlines.
One of his partners, TSM Zexrow, managed to get a Twitch ban for his drinking behavior. There wasn’t even alcohol involved:
Twitch bans 19-year-old Fortnite pro for drinking too many energy drinks.
