The upcoming MMORPG Into the Echo (PC) not only focuses on social features and time travel, but also on the modern Unreal Engine 5. And soon you can even play the game.
What has happened with the MMORPG? We reported in September about a new MMORPG “that you want to live in.” It is not the first MMORPG being developed in Unreal Engine 5, but Into the Echo is the first that actually lets you play.
The first pre-alpha tests will take place on December 4 and 6 and are aimed at a limited number of fans selected at random from the registered users. As the invitations are still being sent out, you have a chance to be a part of it.
How do you participate? All you have to do is register for free on the Into the Echo website and hope that you are one of the lucky ones who will get a sneak peek into the game in early December.
Registration is done directly through the developer Etlok Studios on their homepage (via intotheecho.online). There is currently no option to purchase secure access.
So if you want to experience how Unreal Engine 5 feels and do not want to wait for games like ArcheAge 2 and Forspoken, sign up for Into the Echo.
Here is the first teaser for the game:
The MMORPG focuses on time travel and an exciting progression system
What is Into the Echo? The new MMORPG takes place on the planet Raava, where a cosmic event occurred millions of years ago. Since that day, the inhabitants of the planet have supernatural powers that they call Qen.
This Qen also enables time travel, which is supposed to be a major aspect of Into the Echo. To explore the secrets of the planet, you must work together with other players and prevent a war.
As for the gameplay, not much is known about the MMORPG at this time. While there will be PvE and PvP content, more details have not been presented yet.
However, the developers assure that they want to move away from the MMORPG formulas of today and rekindle the excitement of the old MMOs.
How does progression work? These changes should mainly be shown in the new progression system, which the developers describe as similar to the spokes of a wheel. There is not supposed to be a linear leveling system like you know from other MMORPGs.
This system works similarly to the life skills in New World. Players can level up and improve in completely separate areas without advancing the other skill trees. So there are situations where a player with 5 hours of playtime in one category is just as far as someone with 500 hours.
This should allow for interaction among all players without any of them having to perform tasks that make no sense to them. It should also mean that you can no longer pin down a player’s “skill” to a single number.
What do you think of the new MMORPG? Are you excited to play in the pre-alpha and finally experience Unreal Engine 5 in action? Or do you prefer to stay away from a game in this developmental stage? Where do you see further opportunities for Unreal Engine 5? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
As of 2020, ArcheAge 2 officially announced that development takes place in Unreal Engine 5.
