In Battlefield 5, players often die too quickly. The developers now want to address this and have several plans in place. However, this won’t be in the next patch.
This is the problem: In the online shooter Battlefield 5, you often die too quickly. This frustrates many players and is especially annoying because, on the one hand, the weapons seem poorly balanced, and then the game’s netcode sometimes delivers unfair results.
It can happen that the same weapon in your hands kills the opponent slower than the opponent kills you with the same weapon.
Developers are working on the problem and developing solutions
This is what DICE wants to do about the problem: The developers are currently considering how to tackle the issue with the TTK (Time to Kill) and TTD (Time to Death). There are the following concepts:
- Adjust the perceived TTK and TTD experience: It often feels like you die too quickly and take too long to kill an opponent. DICE wants to try to adjust this. This includes changes to the netcode and damage feedback. You would still die just as often, but it would be less frustrating.
- Weapon rebalancing: This change will come with the upcoming “Tides of War” patch and adjust weapon damage values. This will also affect TTK and TTD.
- Medics get a buff: Medics now have no delay after reviving. This will allow for better revives and reduce frustration when dying.
Solution to the problem not in the upcoming update: To test the changes to TTK and TTD, DICE might soon offer a separate playlist where players can test the new mechanics. They want to ensure this process takes place with full consideration of community desires.
However, all of this will take time, so aside from the medic changes and weapon rebalancing, there will not be any changes to the TTK and TTD mechanics in the upcoming patch.
