In League of Legends the “Los Wochos” have begun: Riot Games feels guilty because the LoL event “Star Guardian 2022” went so poorly. From August 17 to August 23, there are endless gifts available. However, to get everything, you must complete 7 games by August 23.
Why are there gifts in LoL?
- Originally, the event “Star Guardians” was supposed to run in League of Legends from July 14 to August 15: A “Give us money and play, then you will receive special skins” event.
- However, too many players participated and too many rewards were distributed, overwhelming the Riot Games client. This caused numerous issues.
- Ultimately, Riot Games had to cancel the event prematurely.
LoL releases “Compensation Missions”
This is now Riot Games’ apology: According to Riot Games, they want to compensate the players. It is said:
Due to some issues with receiving Star Guardian rewards, we have developed a series of compensation missions to distribute all free Star Guardian content by completing just a handful of games. You can only complete one mission at a time and must finish the previous mission to receive the next one.

The shop and the “Paid Missions” will remain open until August 24.
What does this mean for players? Players should aim to complete seven games in LoL by August 23 to receive all gifts.
Now on August 19, you could already play 3 games and still receive a gift. Then log in tomorrow and grab the next one.
Or you can wait until August 23, play 7 games in a row, and collect all gifts sequentially.
