Microsoft has enabled a new feature for the Xbox Series X. It may be simple, but it saves you and your fellow players a lot of hassle when you enjoy multiplayer gaming.
You want to game with other people on Xbox, and immediately you are overwhelmed by the sound and music of your teammates. This is not only annoying for many but can also be a reason to quickly leave the voice chat. This is especially frustrating when you want to play challenging games like the shooter Rainbow Six: Extraction.
However, thanks to a simple yet important feature, many multiplayer matches could now be more enjoyable. This is particularly worthwhile for users who want to try out the Game Pass diligently on Xbox.
Simple feature automatically mutes distracting sound
What is this feature? A new feature has been introduced for the Xbox Series X. The feature offers a new option that allows you to mute the sound of your TV when you connect a wired or wireless headset to your console.
So when you plug in your headset to the console and enter the voice chat, your teammates no longer have to hear your sound or music coming from your TV or speakers. This should significantly enhance the experience for many multiplayer rounds in the long run.
However, it is unfortunate that Microsoft has this feature turned off by default. You will need to go into your Xbox menu to enable it manually.
How to activate the feature:
- You go to your settings on your Xbox Series X.
- Then select “Volume and Audio Output” and then “Additional Options.”
- Here you look for the option “Mute speaker sound with connected headset.”
- Check the box to activate the feature. Now your teammates should have a more pleasant gaming experience.
