It mentions “loot-filled caves of the Cosmodrome”, which is reminiscent of the Loot Cave of the past. It’s possible that there could be a chance event where a stone wall in the known cave is torn down, leading to the dungeon.
Furthermore, a mysterious adventurer is also mentioned. The story of a being who sacrificed his humanity for a treasure. Many hints point to a particular guy in the Destiny 2 universe: Xur, the vendor for exotic and legendary goods.
Why is Xur featured? The evidence seen through images suggests that the dungeon and its story actually revolve around Xur.
Not much is known about the tentacled-faced vendor. It is known that the notorious Nine have something to do with Xur’s condition. But more is not known. Perhaps it will now be revealed how Xur acquires his goods and what he did before his current life as a popular vendor.
