In Fortnite you now play “Endgame”. In line with the new Avengers movie, you can unleash your powers in the game mode as Thanos and superheroes. We will show you how it works.
What’s new? Fortnite has revealed several teasers hinting at an Avengers event over the past few days. Now the new mode “Endgame” has been introduced, where 2 teams fight against each other. Thanos and his Chitauri against a team of Avengers.
How Endgame Works in Fortnite – The Rules
The goal: Two teams compete against each other
- Thanos and the Chitauri try to collect all 6 Infinity Stones. Once they have done that, they must eliminate all heroes to win.
- The hero team tries to stop Thanos and his army. They win if they destroy the Chitauri army and defeat Thanos.
Is there a respawn? The heroes respawn until Team Thanos has found all the stones. They have unlimited respawns until then.
Thanos’s team with its Chitauri has a total of 100 respawns. Once those are gone, they cannot be revived again.
How is it played? The heroes start the round with treasure maps in their hands, leading them directly to a mythical Avengers item. More of these Avengers items are scattered in chests throughout the entire map. These can be Thor’s axe, Captain America’s shield, Hawkeye’s bow, or Iron Man’s repulsor gloves.
The heroes face off against Team Thanos, which consists of Thanos himself and the Chitauri invaders. The Chitauri start with
- A laser rifle
- an anti-building grenade strike
- and a jetpack that boosts them briefly into the air
How do you become Thanos? The first Chitauri to collect an Infinity Stone transforms into Thanos. If this Thanos is eliminated, another Chitauri will shortly transform into him. If Thanos is the last opponent, the heroes win.
Thanos’s abilities: Thanos possesses similar skills as back in 2018:
- a powerful punch
- a destructive beam attack
- and the ability to jump high into the air and deal extreme damage upon landing
Why you should collect the stones: Every time the Thanos team captures an Infinity Stone, Thanos gets stronger and the Chitauri receive boosts to their health.
- Red (Reality Stone): Health and shields double from 1,000 to 2,000
- Orange (Soul Stone): Life steal active (only Thanos receives shields)
- Yellow (Mind Stone): Jump height is doubled
- Blue (Space Stone): The area where the landing causes damage triples. Additionally, the landing deals six times the damage
- Green (Time Stone): Every hit has a knockback effect – Three times damage
- Purple (Power Stone): The laser deals six times damage
