In FIFA 20, some popular players will no longer be available that were playable in the predecessor. Here we show you cards that you will not find in FUT 20.
Some players will be missing in the new FIFA installment and will not receive new cards in Ultimate Team. This affects even absolute cult players and popular talents.
We show you the players that you cannot play in FIFA 20.
Licenses are missing for these players
Why are these players missing? EA has many licenses, but not all. For example, the rights for the Brazilian and Russian leagues are missing. Therefore, players who move to these leagues are not included in the new FIFA installment.
Alexandre Pato: The Brazilian has returned from China to his homeland to FC Sao Paulo. And this is a move that is bad for all FIFA players, as the 29-year-old Pato will unfortunately not be in FIFA 20.
In FUT 19 he could still showcase popular special cards.
Maximilian Philipp: The former player of Borussia Dortmund will play for Dynamo Moscow in the new season. And since only the Russian clubs participating in the Champions or Europa League in FIFA 20 will be included, Maximilian Philipp will be missing.
In FIFA 19, he even received a dynamic Champions League card.
Brahimi: From the Portuguese league, Brahimi moves to Al-Rayyan in the Qatar Stars League. The strong left midfielder started with an 85 rating in FUT 19 and even ended up showcasing a really good TOTS card with a 90 rating.
In FIFA 20, FUT players who want to play the 29-year-old will be left empty-handed. Because clubs from the Qatari league will probably not be in FIFA 20.
Antonio Valencia: A true club legend of Manchester United has moved to LDU Quito for the new season. The 34-year-old right-back is now playing back in his homeland in the Ecuadorian Serie A.
In FUT 20, many players with Premier League teams will surely miss the fast defender. Because in FUT 19, the popular right-back received many special cards and was often played.
Dani Alves: Like his countryman Pato, Dani Alves is also returning to FC Sao Paulo. While he received a 90 Flashback card in FUT 19, things will look different in the future, as players from FC Sao Paulo are not included in FIFA 20.
Filipe Luís: Many know Felipe Luis for his time at Chelsea FC as well as at Atletico Madrid. But like many Brazilians, he is currently moving back to his homeland at the end of his career.
The 34-year-old left-back now plays for Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and is therefore no longer available for FIFA 20.
These stars are retiring
Why are these players missing? Unlike moving to unlicensed leagues, it is somewhat simpler for the following players. These players have simply retired from their football careers and are therefore not included in FIFA 20.
But maybe we will see some of them as Icon cards in later FIFA installments.
Arjen Robben: The Dutchman has been one of the most popular cards in Bundesliga teams since the start of Ultimate Team. A time without Robben is hardly imaginable for many FUT players. But starting FIFA 20, this will be a reality, as the legendary winger has officially ended his career and will no longer receive a card in FUT 20.
However, FUT fans were still able to enjoy a fantastic End-of-Era card in FIFA 19.
Fernando Torres: The legendary Spanish striker is retiring this summer in Japan and will therefore not be in FIFA 20. This will annoy many FUT players, as the special cards of the striker legend were always very popular.
Peter Crouch: In his farewell, Peter Crouch received an extremely strong 90 End-of-Era card. Many FUT players will certainly miss the 2-meter tall header monster. Because such an unusual striker is rarely seen in FUT:
Petr Cech: Petr Cech was also extremely popular in FUT. His cards had very good stats and were always a great choice for the goalkeeper position in Premier League teams.
