We asked you which MMORPGs you are particularly looking forward to in 2021 and which you believe will be successful. Here we present the results of the survey: From your perspective, these are the best MMORPGs that are supposed to come out in 2021.
What was the survey about? In 2021, the release or at least beta start of some interesting MMORPGs is on the agenda. Therefore, we asked you in a survey which MMORPG you are most looking forward to.
Of course, it is always important to keep in mind that there may be delays. Whether all the games you voted for will actually be released in 2021 is unclear. Furthermore, we included only the MMORPGs in the survey for which the developers and publishers have made an official statement about the release.
At the time this article was written (as of May 17 at 10:30 a.m.), 1,754 MeinMMO readers had voted. Each participant in the survey had one vote.
Places 4 to 10
This is how the placement looks: The votes for places 4 to 10 were distributed as follows:
- Place 4: Swords of Legends (13 %)
- Place 5: Elyon (7 %)
- Place 6: Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (5 %)
- Place 7: Project TL (5 %)
- Place 8: Corepunk (3 %)
- Place 9: Crowfall (2 %)
- Place 10: Bless Unleashed (2 %)
- Place 11: Virtueverse (0 %)
Place 3: Ashes of Creation
Platform: PC | Release: Unknown, 2021 starts the alpha without NDA | Developer/Publisher: Intrepid Studios | Business Model: Pay-to-Play | Genre: MMORPG | Website of Ashes of Creation
The MMORPG Ashes of Creation received 16 % of the votes, placing it in 3rd place.
Even in 2021, players are still waiting for the start of Alpha-One, which was originally supposed to take place in 2019: This is the alpha of Ashes of Creation, which does not come with an NDA and can be streamed openly on Twitch and YouTube. It is considered an important milestone for the MMORPG.
Due to delays in the development and release of The Elder Scrolls: Blackwood and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic, Alpha-One will now only start on July 14. Then, a good insight into the interesting MMORPG should finally be possible.
Ashes of Creation does not only attract interest due to its impressive graphics with Unreal Engine 4 but also because of the node system, where you develop and change areas based on your actions, which sounds interesting. Conquest battles and the possibility of becoming rulers of a land complete the exciting online game.
The MMORPG is supposed to be expanded with free addons:
This is what MeinMMO readers say about Ashes of Creation: The MMORPG is always hotly discussed by the MeinMMO community. Many are looking forward to it, but the open-world PvP gives some players headaches.
It’s all about a certain healthy mix. It’s been quite a while since I played Aion, and it was one of the best PvP/E games for me until the time I stopped. Sometimes it’s just okay when you log into a game and don’t want to play PvP and still have enough and good PvE content. One should not forget that, in my opinion, you can’t create a PvP game where the community does not become toxic.

The postponement of the alpha is something that divides the community a bit. Some find it a bit ridiculous by now, while others do not quite understand the excitement about it.
Oh, they can postpone the alpha as far as they want. Those who are bothered by it don’t want to test the alpha or help make it better; they just want to play the game. If it were a release of the final product, I would be bothered too, but with AoC, it’s a REAL alpha test and not a demo like in 99% of today’s MMO alphas…

The chances are quite good that the alpha will start in July of this year. Then we should finally see what potential Ashes of Creation really has.
