The cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket appear in booster packs at different frequencies. With 3 free boosters, the development team gives you a chance to obtain the coveted cards.
What kind of chance is that? Soon there will be an event in Pokémon TCG Pocket where 3 boosters will be distributed. These are:
- 1 Mewtwo Booster (Unbeatable Genes)
- 1 Charizard Booster (Unbeatable Genes)
- 1 Pikachu Booster (Unbeatable Genes)
The packs contain the same cards that you would normally find in the boosters. But there’s a little twist that makes them special: The 5th card of a pack is 100% a card that has at least a rarity of ♢♢♢♢.
With that, you’ll definitely get an ex-, Full-Art-, or an Immersive card in each of the packs. That makes a total of 3 rare free cards that you will receive through the packs.

When are the boosters coming? The 3 free packs will be distributed starting February 27, 2025. You just need to log into the game to receive the cards. However, you only have a limited time to pick up the boosters: They will be available only until April 30, 2025. The 2 months should be enough for you to collect them.
Where can I find them? Once you log into the game, you will find the boosters in the gifts menu. You can access this by clicking on the gift box in the upper right corner.
What do players say about it? In the Reddit forum, there are some players who wish for a change to the boosters. They want the 1-star cards to be excluded from the promotion. The 1-star cards cost fewer coins in the trade function than the cards with a rarity of ♢♢♢♢.
Other users, on the other hand, cannot understand why players are complaining. After all, the developers have taken the criticism about trading to heart and are working on it. One should not take out frustration on free cards.
Due to the new expansion, many players have probably already shifted their focus to the new cards. Therefore, they don’t even open the old boosters anymore.
