This is what I think about the feature
Since I not only play Genshin Impact privately but also stream, I have a similar opinion on both sides. If I were to enjoy the game solely privately, I wouldn’t really care if Raids were a future feature. That would change if, as you say, specific loot was hidden behind them.
I don’t want to be forced to play with random people due to the rewards and possibly get frustrated. There are also always trolls who exploit such features to annoy others.
Aldalindo has already proposed a cool way to coordinate: guilds. This would not only increase contact with others but also allow better management of the few slots on the friends list.
However, my streamer perspective states something different. Since I have a steady Genshin community, I would have reliable people with whom I could conquer the Raids. It would be a welcome change as a streamer and as a viewer. I really enjoy co-op content in streams and like to use every opportunity to play with viewers.
However, as you say, it requires balancing, suitable loot, coordination of the raid participants, and different difficulty levels. An example regarding balancing and to address kraeuschen’s concerns: In a raid, all constellations of a character could be automatically activated or deactivated.
Thus, I would agree with “yes, but …”

kraeuschen has another concern:
Raids, yes, exactly, and then it starts: Do you have C6 [= the 6th constellation unlocked]? No? Bye …
Constellations cause characters to unlock specific abilities and enhancements. A C6 Ayaka would therefore be far superior to a C0 Ayaka. Consequently, some groups would certainly only be looking for specific characters with certain constellations.
This would make it harder for those who do not spend money on the game or have no luck with the banners to find groups.
MeinMMO reader BinAnders suggests rather enhancing the group content and increasing challenges through smarter AI and higher difficulty levels.

We wanted to know from you whether you want to see Raids in Genshin Impact or not. You have clear opinions and specific wishes for the feature.
What was the reason for the survey? Many players have reached the endgame of Genshin Impact and want to be challenged more. The winding abyss is not enough for them to stay engaged long-term.
This is why the topic of Raids has been brought up repeatedly in the community, and we asked you what you think about Raids as a potential feature in the endgame.
Here are your answers: A total of 4084 participants voted as follows:
- Yes – 78.67 % (3213 votes)
- No – 13.08 % (534 votes)
- Whatever – 8.25 % (337 votes)
While almost 79 % believe that there should be Raids in Genshin Impact, you have mostly expressed additional wishes. These should be met, otherwise you would be against them. MeinMMO reader Dschinn has summarized many of your comments in his post:
I believe this topic has been on Mihoyo’s table for a long time. I think the idea is great, as long as it is well thought out and balanced.
The way fights are in this game can offer many possibilities.
Unfortunately, the community is very sensitive when it comes to rewards “cough birthday event cough“, so something really fair should be considered. One suggestion to possibly achieve that:
– Adjustable difficulty levels
– Scaling of group size/adventure rank
– Seasonal affixes [= buffs, debuffs] (to prevent it from getting boring too quickly)
– Cosmetic rewards, achievements
– Intuitive mechanics
It should feel good and boost multiplayer a bit. I mainly play solo, but that’s just because playing with my friends feels rather mediocre. Visiting someone’s world feels more like looting my friends’ stuff (except for the chests), and I can quickly do the spheres solo at the highest rank. Raids or similar could fill that gap – if done right.
MeinMMO reader Aldalindo adds:
[…] I’d find it great. Of course, it should be well thought out and healing, elements, etc. should be included in a fight, but as a real endgame content for multiplayer it would be nice (maybe starting from AR55) …
It probably only works in groups that know each other a bit. I had a negative experience with this ice tree last year when some were using Cryo against Cryo and wondered why they did hardly any damage …
Best with the introduction of guilds, as then these group events can be planned much better and it’s another feature that many wish for. […]
You want the option to be able to play Raids solo or to have something like guilds to take selected members into battle and coordinate perfectly beforehand.
Moreover, you want variety and appropriate rewards for the fights in the Raids. The MeinMMO reader Alex also has the idea that you could take up to eight team members in Raids instead of the usual four.
Your criticism of Raids in Genshin Impact
Why don’t you want Raids in Genshin Impact? Those of you who voted “no” do not want to play cooperatively with others. They would find it stupid if specific or useful loot is tied to coop content:
Honestly? No. I only play solo and generally don’t enjoy multiplayer – at least not for such activities. If there are Raids, there would be items from Genshin’s item style that you would almost need afterward, and I would be forced to play with others, which I really don’t want.
