Today, on June 21, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was released in the USA and UK. However, even in Germany, you can already test the game before the release. MeinMMO reveals how to do it.
Here is the status on Wizards Unite: After the game was tested in a beta version by Niantic, the maker of Pokémon GO, in New Zealand and Australia, the worldwide launch is now on the horizon.
Update: June 22, 21:30 – You can officially download Wizards Unite here in Germany
Initially, the game is being released in the USA and Great Britain. Other countries are expected to follow soon. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can already test Wizards Unite and gather initial insights.
Play Wizards Unite before the release in Germany – Here’s how
Here’s how to join: There is already an APK version of the game, which you can download here in Germany. This allows you to play Wizards Unite even before the official release in Germany. However, it must be noted that it is not officially from the Play Store. The developers certainly do not support such versions.
For Apple users, it is a bit more complicated. You need to have an English Apple ID to subsequently download the game from the Apple Store.
What can the APK do? The APK version is really just for testing, as you can only play the tutorial initially and have the first magical encounter there.
After the introduction, you can look around on the game map and roam around just like in Pokémon GO. However, you won’t find anything here since no Points of Interest are activated in Germany yet.
These are only activated in the currently available regions. So if you are currently in the USA or Great Britain, you will also find them there. The locations are very similar to PokéStops and Gyms in Pokémon GO since the same data was used for them.

When will it start in Germany? The developers are currently keeping this under wraps. However, it shouldn’t take much longer, if you compare it to Pokémon GO.
There, the game was also initially released in certain regions, and just a few days later, Germany was able to join in.
