The loot shooter Roboquest is not known to many people, but it has developed into an absolute insider tip on Steam. Fans of Borderlands, DOOM, and coop roguelites celebrate this just as fast-paced and colorful indie shooter in Early Access.
That the game is very good is also our opinion: At MeinMMO, Roboquest has made it onto the list of the best loot shooters as well as on the list of the best single player shooters under 20 €.
From now on, PC players can also play this shooter insider tip in the Xbox Game Pass. Xbox owners will have to wait a bit longer: Roboquest is announced for Xbox One and Series X|S, but does not yet have a release date.

What makes the game special? Roboquest is still in Early Access, and yet it’s already a great and complete game. It is not only an excellent loot shooter but also one of the best roguelites on the market.
Thanks to the coop mode and comic look, the game is comparable to the Borderlands series or the roguelite hit Gunfire Reborn – but it plays significantly faster than these games.
As one of currently 4 possible classes, you collect numerous weapons with random stats and modifications along the way, which you can use to blast down evil robots. With permadeath mechanics, diverse weapons, many class builds, and a coop mode, the game offers a lot of replay value even in Early Access.
Why is the game so good? A great soundtrack, several classes, and diverse weapons constantly motivate you to start a new run and try new things.
All of this happens at a crazy pace – thanks to slides, double or triple jumps, charged melee attacks, poles you can slide on, and the ability to use your enemies’ heads as trampolines.
This is not only incredibly fun; you are also rewarded for good and fast shooter gameplay. The faster you finish the levels, the more rewards you get. This ensures that you want to discover the speedrunner within you.
The average runs in Roboquest should last 45 – 60 minutes; after some practice and with more permanent upgrades, that can be even faster.
