The new games from the PS Plus Essential subscription are online. In total, you can now download 3 titles at no additional cost if you are on the basic subscription of PS Plus. All information is available on MeinMMO.
The following games are in the month of May in the PS Plus Essential subscription:
- Grid Legends – (PS5/ PS4)
- Chivalry 2 – (PS5/ PS4)
- Descenders – (PS4)
With Grid and Descenders, you get sports games, Chivalry is a kind of Battlefield in the Middle Ages, completely without fantasy, but with a lot of blood.
The games are available for download starting now and will remain online until PS Plus Essential releases the next games. This is expected on June 6, 2023 – always on the first Tuesday of each month. The presentation of the games takes place the Wednesday before (May 31).
What kind of games are they? Grid Legends is an arcade racing game with fast cars and a strong story. It focuses less on realism – it’s about fun, over-the-top action, and on the PS5, there is stunning graphics that were polished up in 2022.

Descenders is pretty much the opposite of Grid Legends. It is a downhill biking game with a more realistic approach. You rush down the tracks with a high pulse and speed, and every little mistake can cost you a lot of time or a secure seat in the saddle. A real challenge, not just for mountain bike fans.

Number 3 in the bunch is Chivalry 2 – a kind of medieval battle simulator from a first-person perspective. In large-scale PvP battles, teams of 32 face off against each other and fight for the dominance of a fortress, a forest, or just points in a team deathmatch.

With PS Plus Essentials, you can download three games each month at no additional cost and keep them forever. However, you need an active subscription to PS Plus to use the games in the future.
In addition to the games, you receive exclusive discounts on selected titles, and regularly, new free premium items for selected service games come to the PlayStation Store – for example, for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
