Server Maintenance in Pokémon GO – What Could Happen?
Why are the servers going down? Officially, it is only stated that Pokémon GO is performing server maintenance. What exactly they have planned remains unclear.
It is still interesting, as this will be the first time that Pokémon GO will be intentionally unavailable. There must therefore be a good reason for this downtime.
What is being speculated? Most trainers simply hope that Niantic will finally fix numerous bugs in the game. There are recurring errors that significantly affect the game. Niantic could use this time to tidy up the bugs.
However, there are also trainers who are not getting hyped by the server downtime at all. For instance, RedJayRioting stated on reddit: “Honestly, this could just mean they are swapping out the server platforms.”
Only a few are likely hoping that the game will be entirely different after the server downtime. Major events have been added without a server downtime, and such significant features usually did not require that either.
When will we know more? When the server downtime ends, most of us in Germany will be sleeping. However, other regions in the world will certainly test out what has changed in Pokémon GO.
