WildStar – a new chance?
What is WildStar? WildStar is a science fiction MMO with western elements that most closely resembles a classic Western “full-feature” MMORPG like World of Warcraft with all the trimmings.
What does WildStar focus on? WildStar focuses on a dynamic combat system, a quirky, colorful aesthetic, a distinctive narrative style, and an impressive depth of gameplay content and side activities. The housing system is regarded as the best in the genre.
How big is the Pay2Win risk? Relatively low. They will likely utilize a classic freemium model, whereby paying players can gain advantages, but since the game was originally designed as Pay2Play, it seems unlikely that typical Pay2Win pitfalls will be encountered. Rather, issues may arise with insufficient inventory space and limited character slots.
When does it start? WildStar is set to switch to a Free2Play model this autumn.

- What speaks against WildStar? As a pay-to-play game, it was unable to establish itself due to some questionable design decisions in retrospect. For many players, the transition from leveling to endgame was too steep. PvP was significantly hindered by balancing issues. The demanding combat system or the flashy aesthetics and atmosphere could prove off-putting.
