For FIFA 21, there will be no demo this year. However, we still show you how to best prepare for the new FIFA installment.
Why is there no demo? EA Sports announced on Twitter that there will be no demo for FIFA 21. They reasoned this decision by stating that they plan to use the development team’s time to deliver the “best possible gaming experience on Current & Next Gen consoles”.
This is how the community reacts: The absence of a FIFA 21 demo unsettles the community and makes some quite angry. Among the reactions are the following:
- “That is really suspicious,” thinks user demianin (via reddit)
- “They probably don’t want people to cancel their pre-orders due to a demo with bad gameplay,” speculates user jnicholl (via reddit).
- “Maybe FIFA 20 was the real demo” jokes user RjHospe (via reddit)
On the other hand, some players mention that the demo often feels different from the final game: “The demo is never like the game, so that’s fine by me,” thinks user SpringKFCgravy (via reddit).
This is how you can still get an impression of the gameplay
FIFA YouTubers have already played: Unlike the community, FIFA influencers have already had the opportunity to try out the latest FIFA installment in a beta version. Several videos are already available on YouTube that give a good impression of the gameplay.
For example, FIFA YouTuber proownez shows the menus of Ultimate Team as well as some gameplay:
Such gameplay videos at least help to see the new gameplay and get an impression of the new possibilities.

This is how you can play FIFA 21 earlier
When does FIFA 21 come out? FIFA will officially be released on October 9. However, players who get a special edition can start playing on October 6.
With EA Play, you’re the first: Those who are members of EA Play can play FIFA 21 earlier. From October 1, it begins. This gives EA Play members a whole 8 days before release to get started, test the gameplay, and create an Ultimate Team.
However, here, with EA Play, the playtime is limited to 10 hours. There is no limit for customers of the premium service EA Play Pro, where FIFA 21 can be played without a time limit starting October 1.
The catch: EA Play is currently only available via Origin on PC and thus not an option for console players.
