A new pet has arrived in the shop of World of Warcraft. Many players find the timing quite inappropriate.
Once again, a new pet has been added to the shop of World of Warcraft. A little faerie dragon named ‘Blinky’ is now available – and this annoys some people again.
What kind of pet is this? The new pet is named “Zwinki” (‘Blinky’) and is a small, cute faerie dragon. It is a new model, not just a small scaled version of the faerie dragons. The faerie dragon changes color from Red to Yellow and Blue and ultimately back to Red.
As usual, the pet costs 10 € and can also be used as a battle pet in pet battles. It is a dragon and uses abilities that are largely also found with other dragons and faerie dragons.
What is the problem? Shop items have always had a hard time in World of Warcraft – at least for a loud part of the community. Whenever something new lands in the in-game shop, some players note that this is quite inappropriate for an MMORPG that requires a subscription fee. After all, it would be outrageous to pay 13 euros a month, in addition to the cost of a new expansion, and then be asked to pay again for game content.
Accordingly, the feedback on nearly every shop item is quite negative.
Some point out that you can also ‘earn’ the shop rewards by unlocking real money currency with in-game gold through the WoW token, but the result remains the same: In the end, someone has to pay real money for the pet.
More deals in the shop: In addition to the new pet, Blizzard has also just launched a sale with special offers. Many mounts and pets are discounted, and there is a special dragon pack with lots of mounts and companions.
Whether it’s appropriate to be bringing new items to the shop every few weeks during the current period of content drought is, of course, a different matter.
Do you like this pet? Will you go for it? Or are you staying clear of shop items?
