B.O.B. counts as a full hero in Overwatch, as long as Ashe has summoned him. This leads to fun combinations.
For several days now, the PTR of Overwatch has been active again. Here, players can try out the latest patch of Blizzard’s hero shooter and already get hands-on with the latest character Ashe. Ashe has caused quite a stir since her announcement at BlizzCon and is already developing into a fan favorite.
This is not least due to her ultimate ability: B.O.B. The omnic rushes onto the battlefield, throwing all enemies he touches into the air and then turning around to rain fire on opponents for a few seconds before flying away again.Also exciting: No more reworks in Overwatch for the time being.
B.O.B. can do everything other heroes can do
Already in the presentation, it was mentioned that he counts “almost as an additional hero,” but this has several implications:
- B.O.B. can contest control points and thus capture objectives, push the payload, or prevent enemies from doing the same.
- B.O.B. can be targeted by allied heroes for abilities such as Ana’s Nanoboost or Zarya’s shield.
Conversely, this also means that enemy abilities can affect B.O.B. just as much:
- Ana’s Sleep Arrow puts him out of action.
- Zarya’s Graviton Bomb can pull him in.
- Reinhardt’s Charge and Earthshatter can stun and take him out.
Moreover, B.O.B. can also be killed, causing Ashe’s ultimate to end prematurely.
With B.O.B., as this clip shows, you can even capture a control point when the whole team is actually dead:
This means in plain language that your team has 7 members as long as B.O.B. is alive.
As long as B.O.B. does not start taking away the players’ “Play of the Game” moments and gold medals, everything should be fine.
