In Destiny 2, 2 NPCs are set to gain more relevance again. Every week potential God Rolls should entice you to browse the inventories of merchants – just like in Destiny 1.
This is meant to sweeten your week: 2 aging NPCs in the Tower will receive an upgrade in Destiny 2. A part of their inventory will change with each Weekly Reset, encouraging you to stop by regularly.
- Weapon Master Banshee-44 sells 6 different weapons each week – 2 Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons each. The twist: The guns themselves and their perks, i.e., rolls, are always determined randomly. For one week, all Guardians can purchase the same random roll.
- Ada-1 takes over the sale of random armor. With her, you receive one piece of armor each week with random stats.
- Additionally, Ada-1 will take on functions from Banshee. With her, you can acquire 2 random Armor Mods daily and purchase, for example, upgrade modules. This way, you should eventually get the mods you need for the strongest builds.
You should browse the inventories of Ada and Banshee at every Weekly Reset. Who knows, a weapon (from the World drop) might just be the God roll that the wicked loot luck never wanted to bestow upon you.
When is the feature coming? The update for both merchants is set to arrive at the start of Season 14 of Destiny 2. The yet unnamed season starts on May 11 and seamlessly replaces the currently running Season 13 .
The Weekly Reset currently occurs at 7 PM (depending on daylight saving time, sometimes also at 6 PM). On Tuesdays, new quests, story arcs, and an updated cash shop inventory usually come into play. MeinMMO always accompanies the Weekly Reset with an article.
Ada-1 will receive another function upon her return (in the title image) to the Tower in Season 14: “Armor Synthesis.” Behind this term lies real transmog. This will allow Guardians to finally look as good as they want while still remaining strong.
Old trick from Destiny 1 aims to make Destiny 2 more attractive
What veterans have missed: The idea that NPCs bring Guardians a new random roll every week is not new. In Destiny 1, the anticipation of Guardians was immense every week when they visited the NPCs after a Weekly Reset.
If Lord Shaxx sold a palindrome with a God Roll, one could expect to face that revolver everywhere in PvP. The faction merchants were eagerly raided every new Destiny week – some Guardians even swore allegiance to a different faction with every character just to not miss any potential God Roll.
In Destiny 2, players have long demanded that NPCs become significantly more relevant again. For a long time, merchants were disdainfully referred to as bounty suppliers. For many, the MMO shooter is thus moving significantly in the right direction with the polished relevance of the two NPCs.
Whether you’ll really stumble upon a God Roll at Banshee starting from Season 14 or how well this feature is received in Destiny 2 remains to be seen.
What do you think of the idea? Do you miss browsing the inventories of the merchants at the Weekly Reset? Or do you think that Destiny 2 offers enough strong weapon alternatives and that God Rolls from the World pool are rather unattractive? Let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
