Diablo Immortal offers you many activities for leveling shortly after the start of the campaign, but the story is best suited for that. However, you will quickly face an XP wall and must reach level 40 to continue the story. We show you how to overcome the XP walls on MeinMMO.
What is meant by XP wall? The story missions of Diablo Immortal are tied to different areas, and the individual areas are divided into different levels. Once you finish the story in one area, you need a certain minimum level for the campaign in the next area.
If you don’t have the appropriate level yet, you will face the XP wall. You will then see a quest notification – “Reach level 40”. Only then will the story continue.
The story missions advance you the fastest in leveling, but you will need to grind a bit to reach the new level. MeinMMO has some tips for you on how to reduce the XP wall a bit and which activities are worthwhile.
You can find our complete leveling guide with tips and leveling classes for levels 1 to 60 here:
1. Use the Battle Pass correctly
The Battle Pass is a strong ally in combating the XP wall, as you receive a nice amount of experience points for every level up. This applies to both the free and premium versions.
However, you should not always accept the Battle Pass levels immediately. With each level, the XP yield from the Battle Pass increases, and you should activate the levels only when you need XP.
So wait to redeem until you are facing an XP wall.
2. Continue playing the Codex Guides
Through your Codex, in addition to story missions, you receive additional tasks and quest lines that allow you to repeat activities in an area or require specific milestones from you. Such as “Equip a second legendary gem”.
Complete the missions as far as possible and gather a decent amount of experience points.
The best part: when you are facing the XP wall, you already know the areas of the Codex tasks. You can use auto-navigation and sit back and relax while your character runs to the corresponding quest locations.
3. Complete Bounties / Daily Tasks
Determined players with a focus on quick leveling already take on daily missions and hope to complete them along the story. However, you should not take significant detours to complete the tasks.
When you are facing the XP wall, these side tasks become exciting. Especially, the bounties and daily missions are worthwhile. Later, when you join a faction, they will provide you with more daily missions.
Here, too, you have the advantage of already knowing the areas. Click on the bounty in your mission window, and your character will immediately head to the area where you can find the monsters for your quest.
Barbarian, Demon Hunter, and Crusader are the best classes for leveling. You can see an overview of all classes with gameplay in our video:
4. Play Dungeons / Elder Rifts with a group
Time flies when grinding with a group. Choose a dungeon that you can work on for a while or play the Elder Rifts in Westmark.
Shortly after release, it’s still unclear which of the two methods is the fastest. Some swear by the rifts, while others prefer the dungeons.
You can also start the Elder Rifts without using an emblem.
5. Grind solo specifically in Elder Rifts
For lone wolves leveling, there is also a method with the Elder Rifts. Start a rift without an emblem and explore the rift without focusing too much on enemies. You will only kill the blue monster groups shown on your mini-map.
These groups drop extra experience points and are particularly worthwhile. The enemies that followed you to the blue group can also be eliminated.
Once you’ve explored the rift area and see no blue monster groups left, exit the rift through your map to Westmark and start again. This way, you can also level up within an hour at higher levels.
If you want to see the method in the video, we will link something appropriate here. From minute 1:50, you can see the method:
Diablo Immortal brings everything that makes a full-fledged Diablo. However, the mobile character can still be felt in many corners, such as with the XP wall at the end of the area campaigns.
