Scump is one of the most well-known CoD players of all time. Now he plays XDefiant and shows how absurdly strong a skill can be.
Who is it about?
- Seth “Scump” Abner (28) is one of the most famous CoD players in the world, having played the various titles of the franchise professionally. On Twitch, Scump has 1.7 million followers and streams regularly to over 6,000 viewers.
- With Call of Duty, Scump has won a total of $1.18 million in prize money. Additionally, he won the award for “Esports Console Player of the Year” in 2016 and became world champion in CoD: Infinite Warfare with OpTic Gaming in 2017.
- In January 2023, Scump ended his career as a professional CoD player. He last played for Team Envy.
On Twitch, Scump, who has a legendary status in CoD, mainly plays Warzone and the current MW3. However, he recently tested Ubisoft’s CoD competitor XDefiant, which was released on May 21, 2024.
Scump shows how strong a skill is in his hands
How does Scump get 6 kills in 7 seconds? Scump played the “Echelon” class in XDefiant. This is the faction that also includes Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. Each faction has different skills in XDefiant, including a so-called “Ultra” ability.
The Ultra of Echelon is called “Sonar Goggles” and allows you to detect enemies. In practice, this means you get a kind of “wallhack” and can see enemies with a red outline even through solid walls.
While you have the Sonar Goggles equipped, you can only use Sam Fisher’s 5.7 pistol. However, you can easily take out enemies with a single shot. Scump demonstrated this impressively in a Twitch livestream and achieved 6 kills in 7 seconds with the ability.

The Sonar Goggles are strong, but other skills also have their uses
Are the Sonar Goggles the best Ultra ability? XDefiant has only been out for a few days, so it is hard to say for sure yet. All Ultra abilities ultimately serve a specific purpose. The purpose of the Sonar Goggles is to gather intel and get kills. In the right hands, this is very powerful.
- Médico Supremo, the Ultra of the Libertad class (Far Cry), is more of a support ability that restores health. This is strong when you are holding a position with multiple players or defending the objective.
- Similarly, the spherical shield of the Phantom class (Ghost Recon) protects you and forces enemies into close combat, where you have a strong shotgun.
- The Ultra of DedSec from Watch Dogs prevents your opponents from using their abilities. This can be very strong tactically.
- The Purifier is a flamethrower that is extremely deadly at close range.
All Ultra abilities serve a specific purpose and can be strong depending on the situation. Whether any of these particularly strong skills outperforms will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Now it is important for Ubisoft and XDefiant that the servers of the shooter run well and stably. On release day, there were serious issues, and matchmaking did not work. For many players, XDefiant was unplayable: Ubisoft’s “CoD Killer” XDefiant is unplayable for many at release, the boss responds casually
