During the presentation of the gameplay for the Xbox Series X, the new game “Second Extinction” was introduced. The co-op shooter sends you on an action-packed dinosaur hunt.
What was shown: Second Extinction is developed by Systemic Reaction and brings new content for all who enjoy indulging in co-op shooters.

Mutant Dinosaurs and Explosions
This is Second Extinction: The game throws you into a post-apocalyptic scenario where Earth has “fallen”. It is now apparently populated by quite hostile dinosaurs. You take on the role of a survivor struggling to survive in this world. At the start, you have a selection of four survivors available, which is set to expand after launch.
Since it is a co-op shooter, you are not alone: In teams of three, you try to push the mutant dino population back towards “extinct”. For this, the game provides you with plenty of explosive weapons to take on the dinosaurs.
You can choose a mission, complete it with your friends, and after finishing, you need to find a way to get out of the predicament. Once you succeed, you can buy new weapons and upgrade your existing gear.
In the quite wild trailer, it was shown how you confront various types of dinosaurs, from small raptors to the huge mutant T-Rex, everything was included. In the fast-paced battles, the action is intense – literally in some cases.
“We wanted beautiful nature, a ton of crazy-looking enemies, huge explosions, and as much blood as Nadia, our VFX artist, could pump out. It’s not subtle, and that’s what we wanted. Part of the joy of playing this game comes from the intensity of the action when bombs explode and limbs fly.

To survive in the dino apocalypse, you should rely not only on a mix of the right weapons and abilities but also on your teammates. Collaboration is key to survival.
Further details about the gameplay have not yet been announced. The release is likely coinciding with that of the Xbox Series X.
