GamePro.de “the console is incredibly quiet”
Tobis Veltin from GamePro was able to test Microsoft’s new console and summarizes his first impressions of the Xbox Series X. It should be noted that this is not yet a final test.
Performance: The Xbox Series X is extremely powerful. Everything you do with it happens very quickly. High frame rates and optimization of almost all tested backward-compatible games are also included. Microsoft recently explained how to make old games even better and more beautiful on the Xbox Series X.
The console is “incredibly quiet and does not overheat excessively.”
GamePro praises the short loading times of games and the fast dashboard. There are significant differences compared to the Xbox One.
Controller: The controller is particularly praised. There has been a noticeable development of the One pads. The D-pad change and the share button are useful features highlighted in the first impressions.
Games: During the first impression, GamePro tested the two “next-gen games” Dirt 5 and Yakuza. The strong performance and beautiful graphics in the games are praised. However, a real “wow effect” is still missing.

Golem.de – All-clear on heat development
In the test by Golem.de, Peter Steinlechner writes that the Xbox Series X never heated up to an extent that would make them seriously worried, even after many hours of operation.
While heat is noticeably expelled from the vents, it is out of the system.
The test also mentions that the console has not been pushed to its limits without ray tracing yet. In the test, they played Dirt 5 in 4K resolutions with a frame rate of 120 FPS. They are now waiting for more next-gen games to further test the heat development.

PCGames.de says: “A great console, unfortunately only without the really great games”
According to the test by David Benke on PCGames.de, the Xbox Series X is rightly called the strongest console of all time.
Even games that were not optimized for the Xbox Series X shine with improved loading times, frame rates, and resolutions. 120 FPS and 4K resolutions convey a clear impression of next-gen.
There are deductions for the storage expansion, which is deemed expensive at 220 €. In addition, the tester misses enticing launch titles besides the Game Pass.

In conclusion, the testers from Heise.de state that Sony has a hard time technically competing against the Xbox Series X. “Especially the low noise level is impressive, and the simple design fits seamlessly into many living rooms. The Quick Resume function, made possible by the incredibly fast SSD, significantly enhances convenience – one does not want to miss the quick switching between games anymore.”
The report also mentions that exclusive titles for the Xbox Series X are scarce, giving Sony an advantage. However, the Game Pass could become more interesting in the medium term than a handful of exclusives, according to the conclusion.
