Microsoft announced the official release date for the Xbox One in the Slim version.
Pre-orders for the slim Xbox One S have been running at full speed for several weeks now. According to Mike Nichols from Microsoft, the Slim variant had a “stunning launch.” He referred to this statement regarding the launch edition of the S, which is expected to be released in August with a 2 TB hard drive capacity.
The exact release date of this new Xbox One is now known: The console will be on store shelves as early as August 2, 2016, and the price will be around 400 euros.
In the course of the years, more versions of the Xbox One S are expected to be released, differing in storage capacity: with 1 TB and with 500 GB.
In addition to a sleek design, the Xbox One S will come with a redesigned controller, 4K and HDR support. Moreover, all games can be upscaled to 4K.
