A bug is preventing Xbox One users today, on August 7th, from signing into an account on Xbox Live and using the Xbox Game Pass. An old acquaintance is apparently to blame: Error 0x87dd0006 is currently causing the issues.
In the late afternoon and early evening on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, error 0x87dd0006 occurs on many Xbox One consoles and prevents logging in and signing in. As a result, players no longer have access to purchased content.
Which services are affected? According to the official Xbox Live support page, both “general Xbox Live services” and “TV, Music, and Video” are currently restricted.
In this case, signing in to Xbox Live is particularly affected.
Xbox Live Outage: Error 0x87dd0006 – Developers are working on a solution
When will a solution be available? Currently, according to the status page, developers are already working on a solution. The official Twitter account of Xbox Support has already announced that a team is addressing the issue.

Update 6:10 PM: According to the status page, live services are available again. According to a tweet, progress is said to be apparent. Players are encouraged to try logging in again.
Error Not Occurring for the First Time
This has happened before: Users of the Xbox One were already plagued by the same error 0x87dd0006 in February 2019. At that time, it also prevented access to accounts as well as the creation of new accounts.
Players were particularly annoyed by the incident at that time, as the Anthem demo was running at the same time, which many players wanted to test.
Players have also had problems logging in at other times. However, it seems that significantly more players are affected again this time.
How long did it last? The problem in February was resolved after just over an hour. In the meantime, there was a brief update, but it had not helped all players.
A workaround or temporary solution was also not known. So it is likely to be a waiting game this time as well.
