The Twitch streamer Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm has been preparing something with the wrestling organization WWE for a few months now. Now the Undertaker told him he has gone too far, that WWE is his territory. The Doctor will “rest in peace.” The threat seemed to materialize yesterday. The wrestling legend apparently set up for a chokeslam.
So it started: In 2019, DrDisrespect appeared at a WWE event. The hosts noticed how the tall streamer (6’8″) walked behind them on screen and addressed him.
DrDisrespect introduced himself as “Two Time Blockbuster Video Champ” and said he was looking for someone. That was in October 2019.
Somehow that was dismissed at the time as a “weird appearance,” fitting for DrDisrespect. After all, the mustachioed character with the huge ego resembles a wrestler.
“You will rest in peace”
This is what happened: In DrDisrespect’s streams, it was announced last week that something in the Doctor’s fictional world was not right. Someone had sneaked into his “arena” and caused trouble.
Something seemed to be taking over the Twitch streamer’s realm and even messed with the Doctor’s holy Lambo.
In one scene, the arena turned purple, a storm was brewing, and the voice of WWE star Undertaker was heard in the Twitch stream:
You have entered sacred ground. I have no patience for the Two-Time. WWE is my kingdom, my court. Your transgressions will be punished. DoctorDisrespect, you will rest in peace.
A mysterious voice in DrDisrespect’s stream
This is the Undertaker: Mark William Calaway, the Undertaker, is a legendary wrestler who made his debut in the WWF in 1990. He appears as a mythical grave digger, a supernatural being with a strong connection to the afterlife and a fondness for motorcycles. Standing at 6’10”, he is the same height as the Doctor.
So this ended: Yesterday, on February 28, the Undertaker appeared in DrDisrespect’s Twitch stream and there was a confrontation. The two went for each other’s throats, probably to execute the choke slam. A wrestling maneuver where you grab the opponent by the throat, lift him up, and then slam him to the ground.
But at that point, the stream drifted into the mysterious.
The stream ends as the Doctor’s broken glasses are seen lying on the ground. You can still hear, “This is not over yet.”
What is behind this? The streams are marked as “advertisements.” This is apparently a cross-promotion backed by G Fuel, a sponsor of DrDisrespect. The logo of the energy drink is often prominently displayed.
DrDisrespect was 8 years old when the Undertaker made his debut in the WWF and quickly became a star. It is plausible that for DrDisrespect, a childhood dream is coming true by now working with him.
Many of DrDisrespect’s fans grew up with the Undertaker as a figure in pop culture. This gives the appearances a special touch. The Undertaker is an almost mythical figure in wrestling, one of the great stars of the last decades.
“Hopefully DrDisrespect never stops streaming”
How the fans react: In the otherwise often critical and cynical Reddit Livestreamfails, viewers are impressed by what DrDisrespect and his team come up with:
- The production values are said to be incredibly high.
- DrDisrespect is said to be the best entertainer on Twitch, says an apparently fervent fan.
- Another user says: I hope he never stops live streaming.
- The next generation of streamers should remember DrDisrespect as one of the “innovators” of streaming. He could now sit back and count the millions, but he continues to push streaming forward, says another user.
DrDisrespect is on his way to “traditional media”: He has planned a TV series.
