At the G-Star convention, a new version of the upcoming Wuxia MMORPG Moonlight Blade (PC) was also showcased – and it looked really good.
Wuxia refers to a genre that combines fantasy with Chinese history – similar to titles like Age of Wushu or Blade & Soul. You are a contender who wants to join one of eight clans in ancient China. Each clan can teach you different combat styles that you must master. During your training, you will face many challenges and adventures.
Martial Arts with Calm and Inner Strength
The fights in Moonlight Blade are meant to illustrate the philosophy of Martial Arts combat. Thus, you don’t just strike until your opponent is down. You must find your inner strength and calm, and gather energy to execute attacks. Only when your mind is calm do you have the power to defeat your enemies.
Fly, Walk on Water, or Surf on a Sword
The more you immerse yourself in the arts of your clan, the more special abilities you will learn. These include walking on water, flying, or running along walls. You must use all these powers strategically to achieve victory in battles and complete the quests you receive in the vast game world. New videos from G-Star show what this gameplay looks like and how Moonlight Blade appears.
In the videos, you can see how fantastic it looks to use the special powers and fly over the beautifully designed world or surf through the air on a sword.
Moonlight Blade will enter open beta in Korea in February 2018. When the MMORPG will be released in this country is still uncertain. However, it is definitely expected to be released in Europe.
