How do you get the 5-star character? The developers have explained on Twitter/X that they collected feedback from players. For this reason, they plan to give away a free voucher on May 26 at 5 PM, which you can use to obtain one of the characters. They stated:
After the launch, we received a lot of feedback about the Beginner’s Choice Convene across all platforms and channels. We deeply regret the unsatisfactory experience you had with the event. Therefore, we plan to distribute a special item [Mutual Tides Voucher] on May 26 at 10:00 AM (UTC+8), which gives you the chance to receive a 5-star standard resonator of your choice for free by mail in the game.

Are 5-star characters worth it? Generally, yes. As is typical for gacha games, 5-star characters are very rare, or you may have to invest a lot of money to have a chance to pull the valuable figures. Therefore, you should definitely take advantage of this opportunity.
