Soon he will again be seen as an action star in the film Freelance on the big screen. An initial trailer provides a glimpse of what moviegoers can expect:
What is Freelance about? A former special operations soldier is in retirement and leads a quiet life as a family man – however, he misses the action of his old life.
One day he receives a special offer: For a handsome fee, he is to accompany and protect the renowned journalist Claire Wellington on her journey as a bodyguard.
Claire Wellington is to conduct an interview with a well-known South American dictator. However, the interview is interrupted by a military coup, and the ex-soldier flees with the journalist into the jungle.
Behind the film project is director Pierre More, known especially for 96 Hours, an action thriller with Liam Neeson.
When does Freelance premiere in theaters? The action comedy will start in cinemas on October 5, 2023. Alongside John Cena, the cast of the film includes Alison Brie (GLOW), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Marton Csokas (Into the Badlands), Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos), and Christian Slater (Interview with a Vampire).
Another action hero is returning from retirement to take revenge. However, the actor actually didn’t match the age of the role:
