During the second day of BlizzCon 2017, there were few major revelations – but a lot of details. In the “Developer Q&A”, the developers answered questions about the new expansion of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.
A question that arises every year is the desire for additional character slots. This question was raised again in 2017. To the surprise of most, there was a positive answer!
WoW: Battle for Azeroth brings 6 additional character slots per server
With the release of “Battle for Azeroth”, all accounts will have the opportunity to create additional characters per server. Each player gets 6 new character slots per server. This increases the maximum number of characters per server from 12 to 18!
The general maximum of 50 characters distributed across all servers is not affected by this.
The reason for the change is the implementation of 6 new species. With 6 new “allied races”, every player should at least have the opportunity to create a character with each race. They do not want players to be forced to delete beloved characters or necessarily have to buy a race change.
The new “allied races” cannot, however, be created immediately at the launch of Battle for Azeroth. They must first be unlocked during the storyline. Players will experience firsthand why the Nightborne join the Horde or how the Void Elves find their way into the Alliance.
The additional character slots do not have to necessarily be filled with characters from the new races. Those who simply want to own 6 more Draenei can also be happy with that.
