Patch 10.0.7 brought many small, new features to the Dragon Isles of World of Warcraft. One of the most important of these is the Onyx Annulet. You can equip this ring with numerous different effects, making it the “non plus ultra” for most specializations.
But what many players completely overlook: You can have multiple Onyx Annullets and thereby make things easier for yourselves.
How can you have multiple Onyx Annullets? It’s quite simple. First, you need to retrieve the normal Onyx Annulet and the jewel cutter’s devices from the vault of Zskera. After that, you can visit the NPC “Researcher Imareth,” who is also located on the Forbidden Island in the village of Morqut, at coordinates 35 / 58.
Imareth not only sells new primal stones for the Onyx Annulet but also several more Onyx Annullets! Here you can purchase an additional ring for each 10 “Inactive Primal Fragment.”
Why should you have multiple Onyx Annullets? The answer is relatively simple: For different types of content or different specializations. Depending on whether you are more into “Mythic+” or raids and whether you prefer to play as a DPS character, healer, or tank, you will want to use different primal stones. Furthermore, you can only exchange the stones in your ring on the Forbidden Island. So if you switch roles, you would have to travel back to the island to adjust your ring.
Multiple rings are the solution here. You can prepare several rings and simply switch them along with your equipment or specialization. This way, you are prepared for every situation, and the long adjustment of the ring is no longer necessary.
