Starting today, you can further upgrade your legendary cloak in WoW. However, the game doesn’t reveal how to do this – but we do.
With today’s maintenance work, a new feature in World of Warcraft has become accessible. The legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas can be further upgraded. However, this does not happen through a quest, but is a bit hidden. We’ll tell you what you need to do for the upgrades and what they entail.
What are the requirements? To further upgrade your cloak, you must have already upgraded Ashjra’kamas to level 15. This has been possible through Disturbing Visions since last week. There are no other requirements. If you need tips for the Disturbing Visions, check out our comprehensive guide.
What do you need to do for the upgrades? To obtain a “Malicious Core” that further upgrades the cloak, you must complete one of two activities:
- Complete a Disturbing Vision entirely, meaning finish all bonus areas and the final boss. Wearing Faceless Masks is not required, but can be done.
- Defeat “N’Zoth the Corruptor” in the Ny’alotha raid on normal, heroic, or mythic difficulty. A victory on “LFR” difficulty is not sufficient. Just find a group of 10 bear druids, and it will be easy…
Then, you only need to use the core on your cloak to perform the upgrade. Per week, you can only obtain one “Malicious Core”, unless you have fallen behind. Then you can receive up to two cores per week, but must complete both activities to do so.
What do the upgrades provide? Each upgrade after level 15 does not increase the item level or attributes, but only raises the corruption resistance of the cloak by 3 points. This is possible once each for the next 25 weeks.
Should you continue to upgrade the cloak? Yes. Even though a single upgrade with just 3 points may seem minor, it makes a significant difference in total after a few weeks. The maximum corruption resistance of the character increases from 60 to 135. This means that you can carry 2-3 additional items with high corruption without being overwhelmed by the negative effects.
