N’Zoth is currently the hardest boss in World of Warcraft. However, a group of 10 only tank druids defeated him – and that in heroic mode.
In World of Warcraft, players can complete many achievements, each crazier than the last. Some of these lead to challenging raids and require specific playstyles. Mastering the current raid content not just with one class, but also with a single specialization is on a whole new level. But that’s exactly what 10 druid players have accomplished by defeating N’Zoth in heroic mode – all without healers or proper DPS.
What happened there? Actually, “N’Zoth the Corruptor” is the current final boss of the Ny’alotha raid and is quite a tough nut to crack. On “normal”, the fight is already not simple, but on heroic, it’s a whole new level of difficulty. Normally, you need a well-balanced group of tanks, healers, and DPS. But a group of druids didn’t let that stop them and killed N’Zoth on heroic. They earned the achievement “Ahead of the Curve: N’Zoth the Corruptor”, along with a special mount.
How do they receive healing? The druids get their healing primarily passively through various talents and some abilities. Because although all druids are bears and thus tanks, they can heal a large part of the damage themselves. Combined with a taunt rotation, where all players take turns tanking, there is enough time to heal the damage done.
Why do they deal so much damage? Tanks deal relatively solid damage by nature in World of Warcraft. The Corruption system has only strengthened this advantage. Since there are some corruption effects that cause damage based on the character’s maximum health, druids in bear form particularly benefit. Tank druids are known for their extremely high health points – something that helps them massively with the corruption effects.
Although it got tight towards the end and some of the druids had to voluntarily throw themselves into death to avoid being taken over by N’Zoth. However, it was still enough for victory and thus the achievement.
What do you think of this achievement? A cool, impressive thing or clear proof that bears are just overpowered?
If you also want to have a druid who can do this, the time is ripe now: Currently, there is an extreme XP buff in WoW – this should be used!
