The release date for Wrath of the Lich King Classic is known. We reveal when it goes (again) into the 2nd expansion of World of Warcraft Classic.
In World of Warcraft, the great season of waiting has just begun – whether in Retail or Classic. But at least Classic fans can now set a clear date for the waiting, as the release date for Wrath of the Lich King Classic has been leaked.
What has been leaked? The release date for World of Warcraft is known. According to this, it goes back to Northrend on September 26, 2022. Due to the different time zones, this could happen for us in the night of September 27 – releases usually take place at 12:00 AM German time.
Where does the leak come from? As so often, the leak came directly from Blizzard. They had equipped the official website of Wrath of the Lich King Classic with the image that promised “The Lich King returns on September 26, 2022.”
The information spread rapidly across the internet, even though Blizzard changed their own website again a few hours later and removed the graphic.
Since then, there has been no further reaction from Blizzard.
Why are so many waiting for WotLK Classic? In the eyes of many fans, Wrath of the Lich King is the best expansion that World of Warcraft has ever had. At this time, the game also had the largest number of players ever.
This also means that many players have only entered the game with WotLK and therefore Northrend was their first real experience with WoW. Experiencing this again is appealing to many, especially since dungeons and bosses became more challenging with WotLK than they were in Burning Crusade.
Please keep in mind that, at least theoretically, Blizzard could postpone the date again. However, since the leak came from their own website, this seems rather unlikely. But keep the possibility in mind.
Are you looking forward to Wrath of the Lich King Classic? Which class will you take to Northrend?
