The lead of the US guilds in the World First race in WoW: Shadowlands has disappeared. The European guild Echo has been able to catch up.
The “World First” race in World of Warcraft is in full swing. After the US guild Complexity Limit exploited their small time advantage, working their way up to 7 out of 10 bosses before Europe could start, this lead has now disappeared. In the meantime, it’s once again a neck-and-neck race that is becoming really exciting.
What is the current state? Looking at the progress list, you can still see Complexity Limit at the top, as they were the first to reach 7 out of 10 bosses. However, the EU guilds Echo and Pieces have now caught up and are also at 7 out of 10 bosses, thus managing to close the gap.
The US guild BDGG is close behind with 6 out of 10 defeated bosses. Positions 5 and 6 are currently occupied by Method and Aversion, both of which have managed to defeat at least half of the 10 bosses in Mythic mode.
The time advantage has disappeared: The World First race is constantly criticized by fans as American and European guilds have different starting conditions. In America, the realms go online several hours earlier because maintenance occurs at a different time than in Europe. However, this advantage is partially offset because EU guilds have time to observe the most successful strategies of the US guilds and thus catch up faster on the bosses already defeated.
Which boss is currently causing trouble? Currently, both Complexity Limit and Echo are battling Sludgefist. He has proven to be particularly tough and demands a lot from the players. The boss has relatively few mechanics but deals significant damage, requiring good coordination from the players. Players chained together must stand close, while also maintaining a certain distance to avoid being immediately wiped out by various area effects.
Where can you watch the streams? The major guilds all have their own streams where you can usually follow the progress live. This generally happens via Twitch:
How long will the race last? It is quite possible that the race will not be decided this week. It may take another ID – and thus more loot – to adequately equip the players so they can defeat the last bosses on Mythic difficulty. However, the WoW week is still young – and who knows if there will be any surprises.
Are you following the World First race? Which guild will be the first to take down Denathrius?
Otherwise, there is some criticism in WoW regarding Torghast – “the fun has been patched out” of the endgame feature.
