The “World First” race in WoW: Shadowlands is still ongoing. Three guilds are tied – and more EU guilds are catching up.
The “World First” race is currently taking place in World of Warcraft in the only raid of Shadowlands. Castle Nathria has been available in mythic mode for a few days, and numerous guilds are trying to reach the boss Sire Denathrius to be the first guild in the world to complete the raid. The race is quite exciting this time, as many guilds are closely matched.
What is the current status? As of now, the US guild Complexity Limit is still in first place, as they were the first guild in the world to defeat the boss Sludgefist. However, the lead is dwindling, as EU guilds Echo and Pieces have also now defeated Sludgefist and are tied with Complexity Limit. Method, which have reformed after a scandal, are in 4th place, just ahead of the German guild Aversion.

So far, 11 guilds have reached at least boss 7, making the gap to the top spots extremely small and there could still be a surprise.
What is currently the obstacle? The current block for the top guilds is the boss “Generals of the Stone Legion.” This fight is the ninth in Castle Nathria and thus the last before the final boss Denathrius.
The Stone Generals are quite a complex fight, which was made even harder by Blizzard a few days ago. There were also a number of bugs causing players to receive double the amount of debuffs, leading to an instant death. However, even without these errors, the fight requires the full attention of the players. There are numerous adds that need to be killed quickly, and coordination is more important in this fight than ever before. Here Maximum from Limit explains some of the bugs:
Additionally, there are phases where players cannot be healed at all, which often overlaps with other fatal abilities and frequently leads to an instant wipe of the entire group.
Whether the boss can only be defeated after further fixes by Blizzard or if it simply requires more gear is currently unclear. The next few days will surely show.
Do you think Complexity Limit can defend its title? Will Echo take the title? Or can Method still overtake everyone?
Activision Blizzard is doing exceptionally well – the stock is at an all-time high.
