With a little trick, you can skip the starting area in World of Warcraft. Worgen, goblins, or Pandaren can then directly start on Azeroth.
If you lose interest in your main character in World of Warcraft, many simply create alt characters. However, these twinks or also “alts” often have to endure an annoying phase. Either you start on the Exiled Isle, as a Pandaren on the Pandaren starting island, as a Worgen in Gilneas, or as a Goblin on Kezan. Although these three areas are cool, they do lose some charm with repeated play.
But there is a solution for that. A “cheat code” immediately ends your stay in the starting area.
What is that code? The “cheat code” is a function that you can simply activate via the chat in the game. To do this, you need to enter the line “/run C_Tutorial.AbandonTutorialArea()” to start a new adventure.
How exactly does it work? For the code to work, you need to follow a precise order of events, as MidnightFireHuntress explained in the WoW subreddit:
- Create a character and choose the Exiled Isle as your starting area.
- Open the chat and enter “/run C_Tutorial.AbandonTutorialArea()”.
- Accept the first starting quest from the NPC in front of you.
If you did everything correctly, you will be thrown off the Exiled Isle along with accepting the quest and land in either Stormwind (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde).
The “Chromie-time” feature, however, is unlocked only at level 10. You would then have to level your character, who skipped the starting area, in another way.
What does it bring? Basically, it’s more of a gimmick and a bit of “useless WoW knowledge” to brag about. It only has real benefits if you really want to play a Pandaren, Worgen, or Goblin, but have no inclination for their starting area or the Exiled Isle.
While some never want to play a starting area again, others will never leave it their whole life – like the legendary Pandaren “Doubleagent,” who reached maximum level on the starting island.
