A new transmog helm in World of Warcraft has been unlocked for Amazon Prime customers. We show you how to get it.
Blizzard entered into a partnership with Amazon a while ago, which now leads to a number of promotional events. In conjunction with the “Prime Gaming” service, players of World of Warcraft can now unlock special bonuses, including a very special helm for transmogging. Long-time players might already be familiar with the helm, as it was previously available for purchase…
What are these transmog items? These are special helms that you can unlock for transmogging. The helms have no stats and are purely cosmetic. A few years ago, these helms could be purchased in the in-game shop; currently, they are only available through this promotion. They are:
- Gem of the Firelord (Expired)
- Hood of Greed (Active now)
- Crown of Eternal Winter (Coming soon)
How can you redeem the helm? It’s quite simple. You just need to visit the Prime Gaming website and ensure that you have linked your Amazon account with your Blizzard account. Once that’s done, click on “Game Content” and scroll down to “World of Warcraft.” There you should see the helms and click on the entry for the Hood of Greed to finally redeem the item. This is possible until August 22, after which this transmog helm will no longer be available.
These items are only available for the “Retail” version of World of Warcraft and not for Classic.
When will the other helms be available? If you just now learned about the promotion, it’s already too late for one of the three helms. The Gem of the Firelord is no longer available, as the promotion has ended. However, the Crown of Eternal Winter is still on the schedule and will be available starting August 24. When that happens, we will report on it again here on MeinMMO.
Whether these helms will be available again in the future in some other way is questionable. It might take several years before there is another opportunity to obtain these transmog items.
