The new class in World of Warcraft Dragonflight has the best ability to troll – at least that’s what WoW demon Cortyn thinks and reveals what makes the Dracthyr so “great”.
In World of Warcraft, cooperation and teamwork are particularly important if you want to achieve success in dungeons, raids, or PvP. The skillful combination of abilities, coordination, and communication is a crucial factor if you want to withstand the adversities of Azeroth. But do you know what else that is?
Boring.
At least sometimes. Occasionally, it’s just much more fun to lead your teammates to their direct or indirect demise. As a huge fan of the deadly Switchblaster and “Faith Jump-on-Cooldown” priest, I always take a sardonic pleasure in trolling my friends and guild mates a little.
Precisely for this reason, World of Warcraft practically forces me to play the Evoker, the new class in Dragonflight,.
Because both the Switchblaster and the Faith Jump have a rather significant drawback, you need to position your character to use them. Guild mates who have had to endure my “friendly teasing” for several years certainly ring all alarm bells when my priest once again joyfully runs towards an abyss or a deadly fire area.
But luckily, the developers of World of Warcraft understand my plight and are bringing the Evoker (with an incredible number of adjustments). They can choose the wonderful ability “Fly With Me” in their talent tree. This ability is beautifully centered in the talent tree, so I can hardly miss it (and would never forget to use it).
New ability lets you carry friends straight into the fire
“Fly With Me” allows the character to select a target location within 30 meters. The Evoker lifts off, flies to the currently selected ally, and then carries both players to the target location. How that looks, the colleagues at wowhead have shown in a small video that’s circulating in the WoW subreddit:
In other words: The Evokers have the best possible talent in hand to properly troll their teammates. There’s almost no “early warning” anymore, as the Evoker doesn’t need to stand near a source of danger first.
The trolling potential has been and is actively discussed in various forums and has already led to some amusing memes, like this one:
It’s clear that “Fly With Me” can also be pretty strong when used correctly. Saving another person and yourself is a pretty cool thing. Presumably, in raids, Evokers will even be assigned to other characters who aren’t as quick on their feet. The potential for really cool, great saves is simply enormous … but so is the potential to annoy your own group.
My guild members probably already have a little vein throbbing on their foreheads at the mere thought – but they’ll just have to deal with it. Maybe it’s better that Blizzard even warns about this class.
In this sense: Thank you, Blizzard. This is exactly the ability with which I’m looking forward to Dragonflight a little bit more…
