The big 8.0 update for World of Warcraft is coming. We will tell you what you need to do urgently after the patch.
The times of World of Warcraft: Legion are over. Starting next Wednesday morning (July 18, 2018), patch 8.0.1 will be active, bringing all the major changes for the expansion Battle for Azeroth. Since there are numerous adjustments, we want to give you a few ideas to make the transition into the new WoW era easier.
Familiarize yourself with your class!
What sounds like a truism is actually quite important. The pre-patch has fundamentally changed and revised many abilities of all classes. Some spells, such as the Void Eruption for Shadow Priests, now have completely different effects. Many former effects of artifact weapons are now a fixed part of the classes and have become passive bonuses that you can look up in your spell book.
Particularly noticeable is the overhaul of the talents. Effects from legendary items from Legion can be found there as well as completely new talents.
Moreover, many classes have regained their buffs. Priests can distribute stamina buffs again and mages can again increase the intelligence of their teammates. Use these spells and drag them into your action bar!
A close look at all your characters is worthwhile, as the playstyle may have changed dramatically.
Use the “Legacy Loot System”
With patch 8.0, the Legacy Loot System is also active. This means that in dungeons and raids that are 10 levels below your current level, you will receive more loot on average.
So if you go to farm transmog gear in the Scarlet Monastery, all bosses will now leave 1-2 items instead of 0-1. This also includes items that do not actually belong to your loot specialization. Did you always want that fancy transmog from the agility cloak that you could never get as a priest? That will now be different, as the cloak can drop just like any other loot from the boss.
The fight for Teldrassil must wait
However, if you were already looking forward to traveling to the Barrens and setting fire to the world tree Teldrassil at Darkshore, you will have to wait a bit longer. The corresponding quests will only begin next week, starting from July 25, 2018. Until then, players have time to familiarize themselves with the rest of the new mechanics.
Have you already prepared for the pre-patch and found out how your class will play? Or are you just going to be surprised?
