The new “Refer a Friend” system of World of Warcraft is coming soon. We will tell you how it works and what rewards are available.
There was great dismay a few months ago when the “Refer a Friend” system for World of Warcraft was discontinued. After all, there were many pets, mounts, and other in-game rewards through this system. However, the system will return in a few months and bring new rewards. Then it will be really worthwhile to refer friends.
These are the rewards available: Depending on how many months of game time your friends acquire, you will receive different rewards.

After the reward for 12 months, there will be game time for the referrer as a reward every 3 months.
The game time of all friends adds up. So if you have a friend who buys game time for 6 months and a second one who buys 3 months of game time, you will receive the rewards for 9 months of game time.
The backpack is particularly cool: The highlight of the rewards is likely the backpack that can be worn on the back. Until now, there has been nothing like this in World of Warcraft. Apparently, the backpack replaces the cloak slot. Since these items are likely suitable for transmogrification, you will probably be able to choose their appearance at will.
Linked accounts have bonuses: But even aside from these rewards, you have a few advantages in the game when playing with the recruited player. You will receive a total of 50% extra experience while playing together, allowing you to level up faster. Additionally, you can summon each other every 30 minutes. With the new group synchronization system, even a level difference while playing is no longer a problem as you can repeat completed quests once again.
Who can you refer for WoW? Referring and thus linking accounts is only possible with new players or with all players who have not had game time for the last 2 years. Therefore, it is not possible to refer friends who have only taken a relatively short break. You can refer and link up to 10 friends with your account.
How can you refer? To refer friends, you must generate a special link in WoW. This can be done through a new interface. You then send this link to your friends. If the friends follow this link, they will be registered as “Recruited” and count for your rewards.
When will the new system come? There is still no exact date for the “Refer a Friend” system. However, Blizzard mentions “over the next few months,” most likely with the release of Patch 8.2.5. After all, the system requires the new changes to the interface, which will only be added with the upcoming patch.
Initial reactions are mixed: Although many players are happy that this feature is returning, there are numerous negative voices. The criticism is often that Blizzard is bringing this feature back too late. It would have been easy to refer many players and connect accounts around the launch of WoW Classic. This is no longer possible, and some fear they will never receive the rewards.
